Installing OptimalTrader is a three step process.
- Download and install the software
- The registration process
- Downloading the initial set of data
Download and installation
This quick start guide will only deal with the most common scenarios and assumes that you have Windows XP, Windows Vista, or Windows Vista 64, and are using Internet Explorer.
Since you are reading this web page, you have already seen the prior page,

Click on the link and follow all the prompts. ClickOnce technology will make sure that all prerequisites are installed and the program will run when this is completed.
The Registration Process
When OptimalTrader runs the first time, it will show a window for you to enter in your personal information. The most important item here is your email address. If you get this wrong, you will not be able to complete the registration process.Fill out the form and click on the Submit Request button and then check your email for a confirmation code.
After receiving your six digit confirmation code, enter your email address and confirmation code and click on the Activate OptimalTrader button. Upon successful registration, OptimalTrader will close and you will need to start the application. Start Menu >> All Programs >> DeltaNeutral >> OptimalTrader
Initial Data Download
When OptimalTrader starts the first time, it will download and install five weeks of option history, implied volatility history, and stock history. Depending on your internet connection speed, this may take a while. The size of data to download is approximately 500MB of data.
Once the data is download you will receive a message that it is completed.
This completes the installation process. About 80 minutes after the market closes, you will be able to download that days data to keep your data up to date.
