Installing OptimalTrader is a two step process.

• Download and install the software
• Downloading the initial set of data

Download and installation

This quick start guide will only deal with the most common scenarios and assumes that you have Windows XP, Windows Vista, or Windows 7, and are using Internet Explorer.

Since you are reading this web page, you have already seen the prior page, http://www.deltaneutral.com/Downloads/tabid/58/Default.aspx which contains the download link.

Click on the link and follow all the prompts. ClickOnce technology will make sure that all prerequisites are installed and the program will run when this is completed.




When OptimalTrader runs each time during trial mode, a window will pop up reminding you that you are using the software in trial mode and must subscribe to the end of day service in order to use all of its features.

After subscribing to the end of day service, you will receive an email containing your ftp download id and password. Please remove the default userid "OTTrial" and enter in your information. This is done on the Program Settings page, which is found under the Settings menu. Prior to doing this, OptimalTrader will run in a restricted trial mode.

Initial Data Download

When OptimalTrader starts the first time, in trial mode, it will download a small amount of option history, implied volatility history, and stock history. This will be a set of trial data, and will be date restricted.

Once the data is download you will receive a message that it is completed.
